James Wade has joked that he is a magnet for nine-dart finishes after both he and Robert Thornton registered a perfect leg of darts in a thrilling second-round World Grand Prix clash.
Wade had the Dublin crowd on their feet in the first leg of the second set by checking out in nine darts, before his Scottish counterpart repeated the heroics later on.
The incident evoked memories of the 2011 edition for Wade, who was on the receiving end of a nine-dart leg against Brendan Dolan three years ago.
"The first one here [at the Citywest in Dublin] was hit against me. I'm a contagious disease of nine-darters," the 31-year-old, who won 3-2 in sets, told Sky Sports News.
"I'm just glad to move on to the next game and play how I can. After playing a game like that, it doesn't get any harder."
Wade, a two-time winner in the Irish capital, will be joined in the third round by Phil Taylor, Gary Anderson and Kevin Painter, who beat Adrian Lewis.
