Phil Taylor believes that the frustration of only drawing with Peter Wright last Thursday will motivate him ahead of his clash with James Wade.
The draw left Taylor in fourth place in the standings, but the 16-time world champion has warned his rivals that he is only going to improve as the tournament progresses towards the playoff stages.
The 54-year-old told PDC.tv: "It's a massive game but they're all good games now. James knows what I'm going to do and I've got to go out there and perform.
"I was annoyed with myself last week because I felt like I dropped a point and that could be precious at the end of the season.
"I averaged 103 last week and I want to improve on that, but the good thing is that I'm getting the hump with myself even though I'm playing okay, and in the next two or three months, I'm going to get better and better."
Thursday's appearance in Exeter is Taylor's last match before he attempts to win a sixth UK Open title over the weekend.
