Premier League bow for Andy Hamilton, Kevin Painter

Defeated world finalist Andy Hamilton and Players Champion Kevin Painter are handed the final two wildcards for this year's McCoy's Premier League Darts.

Andy Hamilton and Kevin Painter have been handed the final two wildcards for this year's McCoy's Premier League Darts.

Hamilton made it to his first World Championship final, losing out to defending champion Adrian Lewis on Monday night, while Painter picked up his first major title at the Players Championship in Doncaster last month.

The pair join the world's top four of Phil Taylor, Gary Anderson, James Wade and Lewis while Simon Whitlock and Raymond van Barneveld were handed the Sky Sports wildcards.

"The form of Andy Hamilton and Kevin Painter recently has seen them earn deserved Wildcards to play in the McCoy's Premier League, and I'm sure they will add great colour and quality to the tournament," said PDC chairman Barry Hearn.

"Simon Whitlock was sensational in reaching the World Championship semi-finals and Raymond van Barneveld remains one of the most popular players throughout the darts world.

The event, which takes place at different venues all over the country, begins in Manchester on February 9.
