Peter Wright has progressed through to the PDC World Championship third round, but Willie Borland stole the show with a deciding-leg nine-darter on Friday night.
The 2020 world champion had to come from behind in each of the first two sets, but he was able to eventually secure a 3-0 victory over Ryan Meikle at Alexandra Palace.
However, the night belonged to Borland, who edged out Bradley Brooks by hitting a nine-darter in the deciding leg of their thriller to prevail by a 3-2 scoreline.
The 25-year-old, who was playing in his first match at the tournament, withstood a fast start from his opponent before hitting fifth-set checkouts of 130 and 144, the latter which will go down in history, to set up a second-round meeting with Ryan Searle.
Ross Smith recorded a comfortable 3-0 victory over Canadian Jeff Smith, while Joe Murnan edged out the legendary Paul Lim 3-2 in a scrappy match to start the night.
