The Omega Pharma-Quick Step rider crashed with 200m to go on Saturday as the race went from Leeds to Harrogate.

The 29-year-old could now be ruled out for the rest of the Tour, according to Sky Sports News.

Marcel Kittel won Saturday's opening stage, while defending champion Chris Froome of Team Sky recorded a sixth-placed finish.

The Tour continues on Sunday with a 201km race from York to Sheffield.
