British BMX rider Shanaze Reade is eyeing a return to track cycling after failing to win a medal at London 2012.
The 23-year-old, who crashed out of the BMX final in Beijing four years ago, could only manage sixth place in yesterday's final.
Reade has competed in track cycling before, riding with Victoria Pendleton in the women's team sprint at the World Championships, and she has hinted at a return ahead of the next Olympics in 2016.
"I'll definitely be in Rio [de Janeiro], whether track or BMX or both," she told the BBC.
"Victoria Pendleton has retired which leaves the door open. I've demonstrated I'm not too bad, winning gold with Victoria."
Reade is a three-time BMX world champion and won with Pendleton in 2007 and 2008. The pair also won silver a year later.
In 2010, Jess Varnish replaced Reade on the women's sprint team and picked up a silver with Pendleton in 2011.
Varnish and Pendleton were disqualified from the London 2012 team sprint for an illegal changeover.
