British rider Jonathan Tiernan-Locke was delighted at winning the Tour of Britain on Sunday.
The 27-year-old became the first Brit in 19 years to win the competition, as Mark Cavendish won his third stage of the race.
"It's fantastic," he is quoted as saying by the BBC. "It has not really sunk in yet.
"It was a tough day, a lot tougher than we thought. So I feel relief more than anything."
Tiernan-Locke will now join Mark Cavendish in a nine-man British team at the World Championships next week.
