Dutch cyclist Annemiek van Vleuten has posted an update on her condition following her horror crash during the women's road race at the Olympic Games.
Van Vleuten was leading the way in Rio heading into the final descent, but saw her dreams of gold ended dramatically when she crashed out of the race.
The 33-year-old was placed in intensive care with concussion and three cracks in her spine, but she has now provided a positive update.
Thanks for all the messages. Hard to deal with my disappointment but also proud about our performance #teamNL pic.twitter.com/9uRaRniFV6
