Sophie Thornhill, Helen Scott claim gold in B2 tandem

Sophie Thornhill and Helen Scott win gold for England in the B2 tandem 1,000m time trial by setting a Commonwealth Games record.

England cyclists Sophie Thornhill and Helen Scott broke a Commonwealth Games record to win gold in the B2 tandem 1,000m time trial this afternoon.

The duo pipped Scotland's pair of Aileen McGlynn and Louise Haston to the gold by producing an all-time Games best of 1:08.187 at the Chris Hoy Velodrome.

Meanwhile, Australia's Brandie O'Connor and Bree Hargrave followed up their bronze in the tandem sprint by picking up yet another third-placed finish.
