Belarusian gold medallist Alena Amialiusik has revealed her delight after claiming the top prize in the women's road race at the European Games.
The 26-year-old cyclist edged past second-placed Katarzyna Niewiadoma of Poland, having clocked a time of three hours, 20 minutes and 36 seconds at Freedom Square in Baku.
"This is very important. It is a new competition, so it is also very important for my country. This is amazing. I'm so happy," Amialiusik told reporters.
The bronze medal for the women's road race went to the Netherlands' Anna van der Breggen.
