Australia take gold and silver in women's scratch race

Australia claim gold and silver in the 10km scratch race on Saturday afternoon.

Gold and silver have gone to Australia in the women's 10km scratch race, with Annette Edmondson taking the top prize ahead of her compatriot Amy Cure.

Going into the final five laps the Aussie pair looked as though they were boxed in, but Cure broke clear before Edmondson took a strong final corner to edge ahead of her teammate.

As Cure went fairly wide with just over two laps to go it looked as though Scotland's Katie Archibald would make a push for the lead, but her finish was just not strong enough and she took fifth.

There was British interest on the podium as Elinor Barker finished very strongly to just hold on to third ahead of England's Dani King.
