West Indies have set India a target of 322 to win the first one-day international between the teams in Kochi.

Marlon Samuels hit an unbeaten 126 for the tourists as they posted a competitive score of 321-6 from their 50 overs.

After losing the toss, the Windies got off to a strong start at the crease thanks to solid knocks from Dwayne Smith (46) and Darren Bravo (28).

Denesh Ramdin made an even bigger contribution out in the middle with an impressive 61, but it was Samuels who pushed West Indies towards their competitive total.

The batsman's unbeaten score, which was his sixth ODI century, included 11 fours and four sixes.
