West Indies defeat England in third Test in Barbados to draw series

West Indies defeat England by five wickets in the third Test in Barbados to draw their series 1-1 as Darren Bravo scores 82 on the way to victory.

West Indies have defeated England by five wickets in the third Test in Barbados to draw their series 1-1.

Denesh Ramdin's side needed just a further 122 runs at the start of the evening to claim victory, with seven wickets in hand.

James Anderson put the pressure on by bowling Shivnarine Chanderpaul with the first delivery of the session as the veteran chopped the ball onto his own stumps.

However, Darren Bravo and Jermaine Blackwood maintained their composure to guide their side past the 100-run mark as they brought their victory target to double figures.

Alastair Cook did his utmost to wrestle the initiative back for his side by rotating his bowlers, but found no answers from any of his seamers, while Moeen Ali and Joe Root both struggled to use their spin effectively.

Bravo notched his half-century off 116 deliveries and then began to take the assault to the tiring England bowlers, moving past the 150-run mark to bring their team within 40 runs of victory.

The 26-year-old provided further huge blows down the ground to put his side on the brink of victory, although he wasn't able to see them home as he was caught for 82 by Stuart Broad off the bowling of Ben Stokes.

Blackwood ensured his team's victory as he blasted a delivery from Ali down the ground to clinch the five-wicket win and draw their three-match series against the Three Lions.
