Chris Rushworth, Tom Curran claim PCA awards

Durham bowler Chris Rushworth is named PCA Player of the Year, while Surrey's Tom Curran picks up the Young Player award.

Chris Rushworth and Tom Curran have claimed the top honours at the Professional Cricketers' Association awards.

Durham bowler Rushworth, who took 83 County Championship wickets this season, was handed the prestigious PCA Player of the Year award for his performances over the summer.

The 29-year-old claimed 100 victims across all formats to break Ottis Gibson's Durham record.

There was also recognition for Surrey seamer Tom Curran, who was named the PCA Young Player of the Year after he took 105 wickets across all three competitions.

It caps an impressive few days for the 20-year-old, who earned a spot in the England Performance Squad for training camps this winter.
