Sri Lanka run halted by Pakistan

Pakistan take seven wickets either side of tea to leave Sri Lanka on 261-8 at the end of day one of the second Test in Colombo.

Sri Lanka have ended day one of the second and final Test match against Pakistan on 261-8 after a strong evening session from the tourists in Colombo.

Having resumed in control after tea on 162-2, Sri Lanka lost five wickets to see the contest turn.

Mahela Jayawardene, playing in his final Test, was the first to go with just four runs, while Upul Tharanga fell just short of a century on 92 before being sent packing.

Lahiru Thirimanne, Niroshan Dickwella and Thisara Perera racked up just 44 runs between them, with the latter being bowled lbw from three balls.

Angelo Matthews was the last to go on 261-8, leaving Dhammika Prasad at the crease for tomorrow morning's session.
