Sri Lanka beat Pakistan to take first Test

Sri Lanka win the first Test against Pakistan by seven wickets as they knock off their second-innings target of 99 in Galle.

Sri Lanka beat Pakistan by seven wickets on Sunday to take a 1-0 lead in the two-match series.

In the first Test in Galle, Sri Lanka were set a target of 99 runs to win after Pakistan were bowled out for 180 in their second innings.

Mahela Jayawardene opened the innings and scored 26 as Kumar Sangakkara made 21 and skipper Angelo Mathews remained unbeaten on 25 to see them over the line.

The second Test begins in Colombo on Tuesday.
