The Adelaide Strikers clinch victory over the Perth Scorchers by six wickets, with Phil Hughes top scoring with 74.

The Adelaide Strikers edged the Perth Scorchers in the final over in a close match at the WACA.

Perth were first to bat and scored 162 runs in their 20 overs, with Adam Voges top-scoring for the Scorchers with 58 runs off 41 balls.

Phil Hughes helped Adelaide build a steady reply and keep the match alive right until the closing stages, scoring 74 runs in a man-of-the-match performance.

Brad Hogg eventually dismissed Hughes but Nathan Reardon made 42 to set up a grandstand finish.

Needing three runs from the final over for victory, Theo Doropoulos crashed home a four to secure the Strikers victory by six wickets.
