Perth Scorchers have kept alive their chances of reaching the semi-finals of the Big Bash League with a six-run win against Hobart Hurricanes at home.
After winning the toss and choosing to bat, the Scorchers made 153-7 before the Hurricanes posted a score of 146-7.
Shaun Marsh top-scored for the hosts with a knock of 40, while Mitch Marsh (33), Ashton Turner (32 not out) and Simon Katich (22) also boosted their team's tally at the crease.
Doug Bollinger, Ben Hilfenhaus and Ben Laughlin took one wicket each, but Perth did themselves no favours out in the middle with four run-outs.
Owais Shah (32), Ben Dunk (28), Shoaib Malik (26) and Travis Birt (22) did their best to get Hobart towards the winning target, although a batting collapse among the bottom order saw the Scorchers come away with the win.
Nathan Coulter-Nile ended with bowling figures of 3-15, while Yasir Arafat and Mitch Marsh were also among the wickets.
