The Royal Challengers Bangalore record a super-over victory over the Delhi Daredevils in the Indian Premier League.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore claimed a victory in the Indian Premier League this evening over the Delhi Daredevils thanks to a super over success.

The Daredevils opened the batting in Bangalore, but none of their batsmen were able to build upon positive starts to make a big score.

Their highest run scorer was Indian Kedar Jadhav, who made 29 from 16 balls. He was still at the crease when the Daredevils reached their allotted 20 overs on 152-7.

In reply, the Challengers suffered an early blow when opener Chris Gayle went for just 13 runs after he was caught by Umesh Yadav.

That brought Virat Kohli to the crease and he was a large reason behind his side's charge towards their victory target. As it was, they could only match the total that was set by the Daredevils, thus forcing a super over.

RCB went first and only successive sixes from AB de Villiers brought them up to a respectable 15 from their six deliveries.

It was a total that the Daredevils were expected to reach, but they could only muster 11 runs for the loss of two wickets as RCB rose to the top of the IPL table.
