Melbourne Stars have earned a dramatic three-wicket win at home to Perth Scorchers in the Big Bash League.
With both teams already through to the semi-finals, the Scorchers posted a score of 179-2 before the Stars responded with 182-7 during the final over.
Big knocks from Perth openers Shaun Marsh (79) and Michael Klinger (71) helped the visitors to set a competitive total at the crease, while Adam Voges also contributed with 27 not out.
Marsh eventually fell to the bowling of Michael Beer before Klinger was run out following some confusion out in the middle.
Melbourne's run-chase got off to a poor start as Kevin Pietersen was dismissed for a golden duck by Yasir Arafat after Luke Wright (1) and Cameron White (13) had both been sent back to the pavilion.
However, a huge 103 not out from Peter Handscomb made sure that the hosts pushed forward towards victory.
Rob Quiney (19) and John Hastings (20) provided some assistance with the bat, but it was a six from Handscomb that brought up his first ever Twenty20 century and the win for the Stars.
