Pakistan make steady progress to reach tea on 158-2 against Australia

Azhar Ali and Younis Khan lead Pakistan's attack as they reach 152-2 at tea against Australia on day one of the second Test in Abu Dhabi.

Pakistan have kept Australia's bowling attack at bay by reaching tea on 158-2 on day one of the second Test in Abu Dhabi.

The Aussies, who trail the series 1-0, were frustrated on the field as Ahmed Shehzad and Mohammed Hafeez moved to 50 without loss in the morning session.

Nathan Lyon found the breakthrough for Australia by dismissing Shehzad for 35, but Pakistan managed to reach lunch on 82-1.

After the break, Mitchell Johnson struck to send Hafeez back to the pavilion with the batsman just five runs short of a Test half-century.

Despite losing their opening batsmen, Azhar Ali and Younis Khan took charge of the attack by closing the afternoon session unbeaten on 26 and 49 runs respectively.
