Pakistan set Sri Lanka 323-run victory target

Mohammad Hafeez contributes a century as Pakistan score 322 runs during 50 overs against Sri Lanka.

A century from Mohammad Hafeez has this afternoon helped Pakistan to record a score of 322-5 during their one-day international against Sri Lanka in the United Arab Emirates.

Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat, but they lost the wicket of opener Ahmed Shehzad for just 11 runs when he was trapped lbw by paceman Suranga Lakmal.

However, Shehzad's dismissal brought Hafeez to the crease and with the aid of Sharjeel Khan (61) and Sohaib Maqsood (73), the 33-year-old was able to guide his nation beyond the 300-run mark.

The right-hander's innings was eventually ended in the final over when he was caught by Dinesh Chandimal off the bowling of Lakmal, having contributed 122 runs from 129 deliveries.

In reply, Sri Lanka must score 323 runs to open up a 1-0 lead in the five-match series.
