Pakistan star Saeed Ajmal reported to ICC over suspect action

Pakistan spinner Saeed Ajmal is reported to the ICC over a suspected illegal bowling action.

Pakistan off-break bowler Saeed Ajmal has been reported to the ICC over a suspected illegal action.

The mystery spinner was flagged by match officials in the seven-wicket loss to Sri Lanka in the first Test at Galle.

He will have to undergo testing within the next three weeks, but is not banned from bowling in the meantime.

The 36-year-old, who is the world's number one ranked ODI bowler, is the leading wicket-taker in the County Championship this summer, having taken 63 wickets in nine matches for Worcestershire.

Ajmal claimed after his man-of-the-series performance against England in 2012 that he had been given "special dispensation" to deliver from a 23.5-degree angle - more than the ICC's 15-degree limit - due to an accident which restricted the movement of his arm.
