Saeed Ajmal has made good progress in his challenge to have his bowling action cleared by the International Cricket Council, according to the Pakistan Cricket Board.
The spinner was suspended last month after tests showed his elbow extension is more than twice the allowable limit of 15 degrees during his action, but he will soon be sent to have his action examined once again in the hope that his recent work with former off-spinner Saqlain Mushtaq will ensure he is available for next year's World Cup.
"We are sending Ajmal informally to one of the laboratories," PCB chairman Shaharyar Khan told members of the media. "If we find his bowling action is OK, we will then go to the ICC for review.
"When I met [Ajmal and Mushtaq] today, both told me that the bowling action is much better now, and we are prepared to get tested in front of high-speed cameras."
Ajmal is currently the world's number one ranked bowler in one-day international cricket.
