Ashley Giles confirms Andrew Flintoff won't play for Lancashire this year

Former England all-rounder Andrew Flintoff will not make a second comeback for Lancashire this year.

Andrew Flintoff will not play for Lancashire Lightning in the T20 Blast this summer, according to cricket director Ashley Giles.

The all-rounder came out of retirement to play for the Lightning last summer, but Giles has revealed that there is no deal in place this year.

He told BBC Sport: "We've agreed the best way forward is for 'Fred' to concentrate on the non-cricket stuff he's doing. He's always welcome here but I don't see him playing."

The 37-year-old initially quit cricket in 2010 due to injuries, but came back to play three games last year. He then went on to play for the Brisbane Heat in the Australian Big Bash.

Flintoff played in 73 Tests for England and helped them win two Ashes series in 2005 and 2009.
