Kings XI Punjab ease to victory over Cape Cobras

A batting collapse from the Cape Cobras opens the door for an emphatic Kings XI Punjab win in Group B of the Champions League Twenty20.

Kings XI Punjab produced an impressive display with bat and ball to record a comfortable seven-wicket victory over Cape Cobras in Group B of the Champions League Twenty20 on Sunday.

The Cobras made a solid start to their innings as they batted first in Mohali, with Hashim Amla (40) and Richard Levi (42) both looking in good form at the top of the order.

However, Kings XI would soon wrestle back control thanks to Anureet Singh and Akshar Patel, who both took three wickets as the Cobras collapsed to 135 all out.

Any hopes of a comeback from the Cobras were quickly dashed as Manan Vohra (23) and Virender Sehwag (23) quickly chipped away at the target.

Just three wickets fell in the Punjab innings as Wriddhiman Saha compiled an unbeaten 42 to guide his team over the line.
