Kings XI Punjab have opened their Champions League T20 campaign with a four-wicket win over Barbados Tridents this afternoon.
Eldeniya Munaweera got the Caribbean side off to a bright start with a half century, while Raymon Reifer finished the innings 60 not out as Barbados set their opponents a target of 175 for victory.
Parvinder Awana prevented any of the other batsman making significant scores, as he finished with bowling figures of 3-46.
Virender Sehwag and Manan Vohra got the Indian Premier League side off to a bright start in reply, putting on 41 runs for the opening wicket.
After Ravindranath Rampaul picked up a couple of wickets, David Miller and Akshar Patel guided the Kings XI to level the scores with three balls to spare before the latter hit a boundary to secure the win.
