Owais Shah returns to Hampshire

Veteran batsman Owais Shah opts to spend a second T20 Blast campaign playing for Hampshire.

Hampshire have confirmed that Owais Shah has agreed to represent them again in this year's T20 Blast.

The 36-year-old averaged 52 with the bat during his six outings for the Rose Bowl-based outfit during the 2014 instalment of the competition.

"Owais made a big impact with us last year, he scored his runs and was also popular around the club," director of cricket Giles White told the club's official website.

"He is available for the entire tournament which allows us the opportunity to form a settled side that finds its pattern of play. Experience tells us that this is important in this format of the game."

Hampshire begin their T20 campaign against Essex on May 15.
