England win final warm-up encounter

Spinner Moeen Ali takes 6-77 as England record an innings victory over South Africa A in Pietermaritzburg.

England wrapped up an innings victory in their last warm-up game against South Africa A this morning.

Having declared on 414-6 yesterday afternoon thanks in part to centuries from captain Alastair Cook and Joe Root, the England bowling attack went on to claim two wickets before the close of play.

Today, the pick of the England bowlers was spinner Moeen Ali, who ended with figures of 6-77 as the home side were skittled out for 187 runs during their second innings.

Steven Finn also helped himself to two wickets, while Stuart Broad and Mark Footitt claimed one apiece.

England will now return to action on Boxing Day when the first Test gets underway against South Africa in Durban.
