Bangladesh level series against England

Bangladesh ease past England in Dhaka to level their one-day international series at 1-1.

Bangladesh have beaten England by 34 runs to level their one-day international series at 1-1 following Sunday's meeting at the Shere Bangla National Stadium.

Mohammad Mahmudullah led the way for the hosts with the bat as they set a winning target of 239 which England never looked likely to chase down.

Tamim Iqbal (14), Imrul Kayes (11) and Mohammad Rahman (3) all failed to make substantial scores as Bangladesh got off to a shaky start, but Mahmudullah's 75 from 88 deliveries steadied the ship.

Mushfiqur Rahim (21) and Musaddek Saikat (29) also contributed before Mashrafe Mortaza (44) and Mohammad Hossain (27*) upped the run rate - the former reaching his total in just 29 balls.

England's response got off to a poor start, with Bangladesh tearing through the top order to leave the tourists floundering on 26-4.

Jonny Bairstow (35) and Jos Buttler (57) provided some resistance, but Taskin Ahmed dismissed both dangermen, as well as Chris Woakes, to reduce England to 132-8, before Nasir Hossain dismissed Moeen Ali.

In the end, it proved to be a routine win for the home side despite cameos from Adil Rashid (33) and Jake Ball (28).

England were bowled out for 204 chasing Bangladesh's 239-run target to leave the two level ahead of the third and final ODI on Wednesday.
