ODI skipper Eoin Morgan unwilling to commit to Bangladesh tour

Eoin Morgan refuses to commit to England's upcoming tour of Bangladesh, stating that he is concerned about ongoing distractions surrounding security measures in place.

England one-day captain Eoin Morgan has hinted that he will not play a part in the tour of Bangladesh due to fears for his own safety.

The England and Wales Cricket Board has given the green light for the tour to go ahead in October, despite major concerns over security.

Moeen Ali, Chris Jordan and Liam Dawson have made it known that they will travel to South Asia if selected, but Morgan - who has had previous brushes with tense security situations - is yet to commit.

"I've been to places before where things have become a distraction," he is quoted as saying by BBC Sport. "In 2010 we played an Indian Premier League game in Bangalore and a bomb went off in the ground.

"Immediately we left and went straight to the airport. Another one was playing domestic cricket in Bangladesh during political elections and things were incredibly violent. Given that no-one has toured there since the terrorist attack adds a bigger decision to it."

Twenty people were killed in a siege at a cafe in the Bangladeshi capital of Dhaka in July, with no international sides touring the country since.
