Graeme Swann to sit out of final two one-day internationals against Australia

Graeme Swann will be rested for England's final two one-day internationals against Australia and is replaced by James Tredwell.

The England and Wales Cricket Board have confirmed that off-spinner Graeme Swann will play no part in England's final two one-day internationals against Australia.

The 33-year-old will be rested after complaining about pain in his right elbow, which paves the way for Kent bowler James Tredwell, who has been called up along with Chris Woakes.

National Selector Geoff Miller: "We had earmarked the fourth and fifth matches in this series as an opportunity to rest Graeme regardless of the result at Edgbaston as we have to consider our preparations for the Investec Test series later this month.

"Graeme has some pain in his elbow at the moment and we feel that an extra week's rest will allow his elbow to settle. Chris Woakes replaces Jade Dernbach, in the squad who has been ruled out with a side strain.

"We have played some very good cricket in the last week to lead this NatWest Series 2-0 and will need to continue that form if we are to win our seventh straight series on home soil."

The final two matches of the five-day series will take place at Chester-le-Street and Manchester.

England squad: Alastair Cook (c), James Anderson, Jonny Bairstow, Ian Bell, Ravi Bopara, Tim Bresnan, Stuart Broad, Steven Finn, Craig Kieswetter, Eoin Morgan, Samit Patel, James Tredwell, Jonathan Trott, Chris Woakes
