Dominic Sibley targets England call-up

Dominic Sibley says that he is hoping to earn an England call-up after scoring 242 for Surrey against Yorkshire.

Surrey batsman Dominic Sibley has said that he is hoping to earn an England call-up in the future after becoming the youngest player to score a double century in the County Championship.

The 18-year-old scored 242 in Surrey's Division One game against Yorkshire at The Oval as he batted for a minute short of 10 hours.

Sibley has admitted that it was a dream to bat alongside Hashim Amla as the pair put on 237 for the third wicket.

"I couldn't wait to bat with Hashim Amla at the start of the day. I really wanted to stick around and bat with him," Clubcall.com quotes Sibley as saying.

"I want to play for England. This winter we've got the Under-19 World Cup and I'd love to go to that and hopefully win that - I don't think we've won it in a while. That's short term, I'd love to do that."

Sibley's double hundred helped relegated Surrey to earn a draw in the final game of the season.
