England batsman Joe Root replaces Craig Kieswetter for England's tour of New Zealand.

Joe Root has replaced wicketkeeper Craig Kieswetter in England's one-day squad for their tour of New Zealand next month.

Root had initially been left out of the tour so that he could captain the England Lions side in their upcoming matches in Australia.

However, the 22-year-old impressed in England's one-day series with India and has now been drafted into the senior side in place of the out-of-form Kieswetter.

The Yorkshireman has scored 132 runs in three innings, including a knock of 57 runs from 45 balls during England's five-wicket defeat on Wednesday.

Root is expected to feature in England's side for the final match of the one-day series on Sunday.
