Pakistan unlikely to select third spinner

Misbah-ul-Haq claims that Pakistan are unlikely to bring a third spinner into the side for the third Test against England.

Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq has claimed that they are unlikely to add another spinner to the side ahead of the third Test against England.

Requiring just a draw to secure a series triumph, Misbah has dismissed suggestions that the uncapped Bilal Asif could be handed a debut, despite hints from England that the tourists could bring spinning all-rounder Samit Patel into the side for Mark Wood, who will miss the game due to an ankle problem.

"They have changed the upper layer of the pitch, so we don't know too much about it. Let's hope it spins," the skipper told reporters.

"We have been thinking about it, but the pitch doesn't look like that sort of a turner where you can go with three spinners. That's our thinking at the moment."

Yasir Shah and Zulfiqar Babar combined for 11 wickets in the second Test victory in Dubai.
