Eoin Morgan: 'England have not been good enough'

England one-day international and Twenty20 captain Eoin Morgan believes his team have not been good enough in recent matches and must improve.

England one-day international and Twenty20 captain Eoin Morgan has suggested that his team have not been good enough in recent limited-overs matches, ahead of Monday's T20 clash with Australia.

The 28-year-old believes that England must improve before March's World Twenty20 tounament, after his team's early exit from last year's tournament - including a shock defeat by the Netherlands.

Morgan is quoted by Sky Sports News as saying: "I think we simply haven't been good enough. Our skill level hasn't been good enough to string enough wins together.

"We have, I think, the players to do that, but we need them in good form and to form the right plan to suit the players that we have.

"We want to get a formula together before the next World Cup and that is obviously crucial."

Morgan's comments come after a month's absence from the sport, and the Irishman believes the break has been of personal benefit.

"I feel really fresh now. My attitude, my mind, my body is a lot better than it was a month ago. I'm raring to go," he added.

Morgan made his debut for England in May 2007 against the West Indies.
