Matthew Hoggard announces retirement

Former England bowler Matthew Hoggard announces his retirement from all forms of cricket at the age of 36.

Former England bowler Matthew Hoggard has announced his retirement from all forms of cricket.

The 36-year-old was part of the team that famously beat Australia in the 2005 Ashes series.

He played 67 Tests for England between 2000 and 2008, taking 248 wickets in the process.


Hoggard, who played much of his county cricket for Yorkshire, joined Leicestershire in 2010.

He ends his professional career with 768 first-class wickets to his name.
