Nottinghamshire bowler Harry Gurney has admitted that he is excited by the prospect of representing England, after being named in the squad that will tour the Caribbean.
The 27-year-old could make his international bow during two limited-overs series against the West Indies during February and March.
Gurney, who trained with the Ashes squad earlier this winter, hopes that he can impress the England coaches as a full member of a touring party.
"It's a potentially interesting few months coming up. I'm taking it one step at a time really," he told the ECB's official website.
"I've got this trip to the West Indies, which I'm hugely excited by, and I'll go over there and try and impress them as much as I possibly can in the nets and try and force my way into the team for a couple of games and see where it leads me from there."
Gurney took 74 wickets for Notts last season.
