England were left frustrated for a second successive day as rain prevented a ball being bowled on day three of their tour match with Australia A.

The second day of the four-day match had been washed out due to heavy showers and a wet outfield, and Friday's play followed a similar pattern.

Persistent rain ensured that both teams remained in the dressing room, and England captain Alastair Cook must now decide the next course of action should play be possible on Saturday.

Cook and Michael Carberry have taken England to 318-0, but with the rest of the top order requiring practice in the middle and none of the bowlers being given an opportunity, the skipper must find a balance in the final three sessions.
