England lose Cook and Compton before tea, leaving them with a second-innings total of 81-2.

England have put themselves into a good position at tea on day four of the fourth test, despite losing both opening batsmen in their second innings.

India had opted to declare after adding just 29 runs to their overnight total, with England making steady progress before lunch.

They continued to build a lead, with Nick Compton in particular looking strong, before the skipper Alastair Cook was caught by MS Dhoni behind. Replays showed afterwards that Cook had not made contact with the ball.

The visitors continued the slow, steady pace which has been the theme of this test match, climbing to 81 before Compton was caught lbw by Pragyan Ojha in over 46, signalling tea.
