Jos Buttler will be handed the England wicketkeeper's gloves for their first one-day international against New Zealand on Sunday.
The Somerset star recently scored plenty of quick runs while keeping wicket in the Twenty20 series victory over the Black Caps after county teammate Craig Kieswetter was dropped after failures with the bat, and it appears that he has overtaken Yorkshire's Jonny Bairstow in the pecking order.
England captain Alastair Cook explained: "Jos has impressed everyone and is a very dangerous batter.
"It's a tough call on Jonny, but because of the way Jos handled himself in two one-day games in India and carried that on in the Twenty20 games against New Zealand, he's playing on Sunday."
Bairstow is unlikely to earn a place in England's side as a specialist batsman for the clash in Hamilton.
