England set New Zealand a formidable target of 215 in their opening Twenty20 international in Auckland.

England took advantage of a small outfield to score 15 sixes on the way to setting New Zealand a target of 215 in the opening Twenty20 international in Auckland.

All of England's top order got in on the act as they sent the ball to all corners of Eden Park but despite conceding nearly 11 runs an over, New Zealand remain competitive in the match.

Michael Lumb and Alex Hales got England off to a rapid start before Luke Wright fired 42 runs off 20 balls before he was dismissed by Andrew Ellis.

Eoin Morgan and Jonny Bairstow continued to increase England's scoring rate with a partnership of 81 runs off 43 balls before Morgan was caught for 46.

Bairstow fell for 38 as England reached 194-5 with 13 balls remaining before Jos Buttler took the tourists' total up to 214 as he scored an unbeaten 32 off 15 deliveries.
