England crash to series whitewash

England lose by 95 runs in Kolkata and in doing so slip to 5-0 whitewash defeat in their one-day international series with India.

England have slipped to a whitewash defeat in their one-day international series with India this afternoon.

The hosts India set England a target of 272 to win the match, a run-chase that looked manageable with Alastair Cook's side on 120-0.

However, the tourists then lost five wickets for just 12 runs as the match swung in India's favour.

The home side took little time in collecting the remaining England wickets, eventually bowling England for 176 - some 95 runs behind the required target.

Craig Kieswetter top scored for England with 63, while Ravindra Jadeja was the pick of the Indian bowlers with figures of 4-33.

The two sides will now play a Twenty20 match on Saturday.
