Graeme Swann has admitted that England found it tough during the final day of the fourth Test against India at the Oval.
Off-spinner Swann helped England record a 4-0 whitewash over the tourists by claiming six wickets as the home side emerged victorious by an innings and eight runs.
Despite the comfortable win, 32-year-old Swann has revealed that India proved tough opponents.
"It was our first real day slogging away in the sun, to be honest - Jimmy [James Anderson] and Broady [Stuart Broad] and Bresser [Tim Bresnan] have been doing all the damage," Swann told Sky Sports News.
"It was a long, tough day but we knew that going into the day.
"We didn't have any designs on winning the game today, we were just thinking, 'plug away all day, bowl them out first time and then try and get three or four [wickets] in the second innings'."
Swann is currently the highest-ranked spin bowler in Test cricket.
