Jos Buttler has admitted that being named in the England Test squad is a special moment for him as he prepares to make his debut against India on Sunday in Southampton.
The Lancashire wicketkeeper was selected in the squad for the third Test following the confirmation that Matt Prior would take a break from cricket due to fitness concerns, and he admits that he didn't expect to be playing in the longest format at this stage of his career.
"It is a dream come true," Buttler told Lancashire's official website. "I'm sure it won't sink in until I meet up with everyone and Sunday morning comes.
"It's been a long-term goal and ambition, and it's probably come sooner than I imagined as well, which is great for me.
"I still feel like I've got improvements to make, but it's great that I've been named in the squad. I can't wait to get started."
England head into the third Test trailing India 1-0 in the five-match series.
