Jos Buttler has been named as Matt Prior's replacement in the England squad for the third Test against India in Southampton.
Prior confirmed on Monday that he would be taking a break from the game in order to overcome a number of injury problems.
Lancashire wicketkeeper Buttler comes into the side without having been capped at Test level.
There are no other changes to the team following their 95-run defeat to India in the second Test at Lord's. Meanwhile, Alastair Cook remains as captain amid doubts over his leadership.
England currently trail India 0-1 in the five-Test series with three matches left to play this summer.
