England bowler Stuart Broad has bouncer "nightmares"

England paceman Stuart Broad reveals that he is yet to get over the mental scars of the day he was hit in the face by a bouncer last summer.

England fast bowler Stuart Broad has revealed that he is yet to get over the mental scars of the day he was hit in the face by a Varun Aaron bouncer last summer.

The 28-year-old suffered extensive damage to his nose and black eyes after Aaron's bouncer found a way through the grille in his helmet during a Test against India in August.

He has since being seeing a psychologist, but still gets woken by dreams of being hit again.

"I get nightmares still and I wake up thinking I have been hit in the face by a ball," Broad told PA.

"Even when I get tired I see balls flying at me. My jaw clicks from it and if I have two glasses of wine I have black eyes."

Broad is not enjoying the best of times at the Cricket World Cup, failing to claim a wicket since he took two in two balls against Australia in the opening-night defeat in Melbourne.
