Former England batsman Geoffrey Boycott has described the team's performance during their thumping by Australia at the Cricket World Cup as "rubbish".
England were hammered by 111 runs in Melbourne on Saturday as they got their campaign off to a woeful start.
Co-hosts Australia powered to 342-9 thanks to Aaron Finch's 135 before the English were bowled out for 231.
"Diplomatically speaking it was disappointing, but if you want it in straight Yorkshire: it was rubbish," Boycott told BBC Sport. "England had a moment when Australia were 70-3. The Aussies had to play with common sense and patience. Aaron Finch played sensible cricket and got his team into a position where he could attack the bowling."
England return to action on Friday when they face the tournament's other co-hosts New Zealand in Wellington.
