Ben Stokes's Ashes place remains under threat?

England all-rounder Ben Stokes will reportedly miss the Ashes should he remain under investigation for causing actual bodily harm outside of a Bristol nightclub.

The ECB will reportedly decide to withdraw Ben Stokes from the Ashes squad should he remain under investigation for actual bodily harm.

Last month, Stokes was involved in an incident outside of a Bristol nightclub, while video footage has allegedly shown the 26-year-old in a street fight.

The all-rounder was released by Avon and Somerset Police after his initial arrest, but the Durham player has since been re-interviewed and could still face charges in the near future.

Stokes has been named in England's squad for the tour of Australia but according to BBC Sport, the investigation must have come to a close for the player to be considered for the highly-anticipated five-match series with England's fierce rivals.

The ECB recently announced that both Stokes and Alex Hales - who was with Stokes - have been suspended from international duty until further notice.
