Ben Stokes: "It has been a tough two days"

England all-rounder Ben Stokes admits that it has been a "tough two days" for the tourists after they ended day two of the second Ashes Test match facing a 535-run deficit.

England all-rounder Ben Stokes has backed his side to turn things around against Australia after toiling in the field in Adelaide for nearly two days.

Australia declared on 570-9 during the final session on day two before England made 35-1 by the close of play, and while admitting that his side have struggled, Stokes believes that the tourists can respond positively on day three.

The 22-year-old told Sky Sports News: "It's been a tough two days. It's nice to get off the pitch so that we can concentrate on what we have got to do with the bat.

"There's a lot of talent in the batting lineup. We know that we have the skills to go out there to put on a big score ourselves."

Stokes picked up his first two Test wickets on Friday by dismissing Michael Clarke and Peter Siddle.
